This qualification is internally assessed and internally quality assured by Centre staff and externally quality assured by CQHE (CQHE).
Aims and Objectives of the Qualification
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training provide an introduction to teaching. It can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers; for example, individuals not currently teaching or training, individuals currently teaching or training, individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching.
The objective of the qualification is to prepare learners for employment and support them to progress to a teaching role within the workplace.
Entry Guidance
There is no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
However, there is a requirement to carry out an initial assessment of a trainee teacher’s personal skills in English.
Providers may wish to base their initial assessment on the personal skills requirements for literacy, language, numeracy and ICT identified in the document, Addressing Literacy, Language, Numeracy and ICT needs in education and training: Defining the minimum core of teachers’ knowledge, understanding and personal skills. L3 Award In Education And Training
This qualification is suitable for those who work within the Education sector. It provides Learners with an opportunity to demonstrate their competence and knowledge in a wide range of job roles.

CQHE Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
Assessor and Verifier qualifications
(Achieving the Level 3 Award is not a prerequisite for entry to the Level 4 or Level 5 qualifications)
